Which ChronoPad® fits my laptop?
Grab a ruler, measure the two areas beside your trackpad, and fill in the three numbers in millimetres. A set holds two pads of the same size, so the narrower side decides. The three ChronoPad sizes are 83 × 86 mm, 86 × 86 mm and 93 × 105 mm.
- Open your laptop and look at the two areas beside the trackpad, where your wrists rest.
- Left: measure from the left edge of the deck to the edge of the trackpad.
- Right: measure the same way on the other side. On many Windows laptops the trackpad sits off centre, so the two are not the same.
- Depth: measure from the bottom row of keys to the front edge of the deck.
- Measure in millimetres and round down rather than up.
A ChronoPad® set holds two pads of the same size, one per side, so the narrower side decides which set fits.

Why there are no model pages
Laptop makers do not publish palm rest sizes
We looked for them. Take the HP EliteBook 860 G11: the official QuickSpecs give the outer dimensions of the whole machine, 358,81 x 251,30 x 9,02 mm, and say nothing about the area beside the trackpad. That holds for practically every brand.
So a page per laptop model would be built on numbers we invented, and the first thing you would notice is a pad that overlaps your keyboard. Measuring takes a minute and it is right. If nothing fits, we say so and you can leave your measurements, because that tells us which size to make next.

ChronoPad® is designed and cut for MacBook decks, so we cannot promise a perfect fit on another brand. The pad itself attaches the same way on any clean, flat surface, so if the measurements work it will do exactly the same job.
Measure the usable area of your palm rest, between the keyboard and the front edge and between the side and the trackpad, and compare it with the sizes above, or use our size finder. One warning about screen size: a 16″ Windows laptop usually has a noticeably shallower palm rest than a MacBook Pro 16, so the 16″ ChronoPad is often too deep for it. Choose the size that matches your measurements, not the size that matches your screen. Every order has a 14-day return window from delivery if it turns out not to sit right.
Yes. The Oyster bracelet is solid stainless steel (or a precious metal on some references), and its links are harder than the anodised aluminium of a MacBook’s unibody. Every time the bracelet slides across the palm rest while you type, it can leave fine micro-scratches in the anodised finish. This is not specific to Rolex: any watch with a metal bracelet or a metal case back does the same thing over time, it is simply more visible on darker finishes such as Space Black.
ChronoPad® sits between your wrist and the palm rest, so the bracelet moves across the pad instead of the aluminium. It is 3 mm thick, colour-matched to your MacBook, and removable without leaving residue.
Sometimes, but only up to a point. Very light surface scuffs on an aluminium palm rest can occasionally be reduced with a polishing compound made for anodised metal, applied carefully and by hand. Apple does not offer a cosmetic buffing service, and doing it yourself carries a real risk: too much pressure or the wrong compound can thin the anodised layer unevenly, leaving a patch that looks worse than the original scratch, especially on Space Black. Deeper scratches that have gone through the anodising are permanent.
Because removal is unreliable, prevention is the more dependable route. A ChronoPad® keeps a watch bracelet, ring or other metal off the palm rest in the first place, so there is nothing to buff out later.
Most watch wearers who type on a laptop every day end up choosing between three options: taking the watch off before every session (impractical if you are on calls all day), a full MacBook skin that covers the whole deck (adds bulk and can discolour or peel at the edges over time), or a thin pad cut for just the palm rest area.

Yes, and a ring is often harder on a palm rest than a watch is. A watch bracelet rests flat on the deck, while a ring sits under the base of your finger and drags across the surface every time you reach for the trackpad; bracelets and bangles add the same edge contact from the side.

It can, and the band hardware matters more than the watch itself. The mesh and magnet of a Milanese Loop, the edges of a Link Bracelet and the buckle of a Sport Loop all sit right where your wrist meets the palm rest. Stainless steel and titanium Apple Watch models are harder than the anodised aluminium of a MacBook deck, so they mark it more easily than an aluminium case does.

Measure it, do not work it out from the model name. Laptop manufacturers publish the outer dimensions of the machine but not the size of the area beside the trackpad, and that area differs per model even at the same screen size.
Measure the width and the depth of the spot where your wrist rests in millimetres and compare it with the three ChronoPad® sizes: 83 × 86 mm for the 13″, 86 × 86 mm for the 14″ and 93 × 105 mm for the 16″. Yes. A ChronoPad® is made to stay on the deck, so you do not have to peel it off at the end of the day. The pads sit in the palm rest area with a microfibre top layer and a soft, closed-cell foam core, so a closing lid meets fabric and foam that give way instead of a hard edge.
Apple’s general advice about palm rest covers exists because a thick or rigid cover can press against the display; a ChronoPad is 3 mm of compressible material, shaped to stay clear of the keyboard and trackpad. If you would rather have the bare deck back, it lifts off without residue.
Over time it can. The anodised aluminium beside the trackpad is the part of a MacBook your skin touches most, and the mix of sweat, skin oil and pressure can gradually leave a darker, shinier patch that is often mistaken for a scratch. Because it is wear in the finish rather than dirt on top of it, cleaning does not bring it back.
A ChronoPad® covers exactly that area with a polyester microfibre top layer, so your hands rest on fabric instead of on the anodised finish, and it lifts off without residue whenever you want the bare deck back.
Each set contains two pads, one for each side of the trackpad, and both pads in a set share the same dimensions. These are the outer dimensions of a single pad.

A ChronoPad is not a plain rectangle: the last 5 mm along the front edge is narrower so it stays clear of the trackpad, measuring 72 mm on the 13″, 75 mm on the 14″ and 82 mm on the 16″. Applied correctly the pad leaves 3 mm to the keyboard and 5 mm to the trackpad.
