The mechanism is not complicated. A metal bracelet or clasp rests on an aluminium palm rest while you type. The contact is light but constant, and constant is what matters: it is why the marks appear in the same two places on every well-used laptop, and why a bracelet spends its working life against a machined edge.

Wipe the palm rest clean
A dry, dust-free surface helps the pad sit flat and stay put.
Step 2
Peel the backing off
Remove the film without touching the adhesive side.
Step 3
Stick the top edge in place
Line up the top edge, then smooth it down to avoid bubbles.
Step 4
Fold the corner over the edge
Fold the corner of the ChronoPad® over the edge of the palm rest and press it down.
